Empowering Communities through Faith

OUR GUIDING MISSION

Our mission is to empower and uplift children by providing not just financial support, but meaningful opportunities for growth, education, and skill development. Through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and community-driven programs, we strive to equip every child with the tools they need to thrive in adulthood. By fostering resilience, independence, and hope, we are building a foundation for brighter futures—one child at a time.

OUR PROJECTS

Clifton Boys' Home

In 1958, Ms. Christine Edlin, the Moral Welfare Officer of the Anglican Diocese of Jamaica, highlighted the urgent need for a home for abused and needy boys. Inspired by this, Ms. Ceceline McIntyre took action after witnessing a case of severe child abuse. With the support of church leaders, they secured the Clifton Property in Westmoreland, and after overcoming financial hurdles, the Clifton Boys' Home was officially opened on February 2, 1961.

The home initially faced leadership challenges but eventually found dedicated staff, including its first Superintendent, Rev. Gilbert Jessup, and house-mother, Ms. Hortense Jones, who was highly praised for her care. Financial support grew through donations, including from Orlando, Florida, where Mr. Levi Shaw and his wife raised funds.

Today, Clifton Boys' Home stands as a testament to love and care for vulnerable children, continuing its mission to provide security, guidance, and hope for a brighter future.

2025 Goals

Improve Classroom & Dining Conditions

Currently, most of the children are eating and learning while sitting on the floor due to a lack of tables and chairs. Our goal is to provide 36 children and their teachers with proper seating, creating a more comfortable and supportive environment for education and meals.

Supplies Needed:

  • 6–8 durable tables (seating 4–6 children each)

  • 36 metal chairs

  • 1-2 teacher chairs

Install Secure & Weather-Resistant Windows

The building currently has only wooden slats instead of proper windows, leaving the space exposed to the elements and limiting ventilation and security. We aim to install secure, shutter-style windows to create a safer, more comfortable, and weather-resistant environment for the children.

Supplies Needed:

  • Secure shutter-style windows

  • Frames and installation materials

  • Protective screens (optional for ventilation)

Sustainable Cultivation

We aim to establish a cultivation space where children can engage in a sustainable planting project. This initiative will not only provide fresh, nutritious food but also serve as a hands-on learning experience that teaches:

  • Environmental awareness

  • Science & ecology

  • Sustainability & conservation

  • Healthy eating & nutrition

  • Responsibility & life skills

Supplies Needed:

  • Seeds & seedlings

  • Compost & fertilizer

  • Watering hose

  • Garden tools

Additional Essential Needs

Beyond these key projects, the children need additional support for their well-being and daily care, including:

  • Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, sanitary items, etc.)

  • Clothing and shoes

  • School supplies
